Jan Hagel Cookies
15 minutes preparation - 35 minutes cooking
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). In the meantime, mix together flour, sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Add the butter cut in small cubes to the preparation and mix with your fingers (preferably) until it resembles wet sand.
Roll the dough on wax paper or on a greased tray. Form a wide rectangle that you'll be able to cut in the shape you want after the cooking, or use a cookie cutter to create the shapes before the cooking.
Brush the surface of your dough with the beaten egg then sprinkle with almond slivers and a bit or sugar. Cook for 35 minutes until browned.
If you didn't use a cookie cutter, using a sharp knife, immediately cut into the desired shapes. Leave to cool and crisp up. Wait until cool down completely then serve with a fruit salad composed of fresh Gold® Pineapple thinly sliced with cinnamon and orange zest.
