Pineapple Spiced Pork

10 minutes preparation - 10 minutes cooking

step1Toss the pork strips and the Five Spice powder together in a food bag.

step2Heat the groundnut oil in a large non-stick pan. Add the seasoned pork and cook for three minutes.

step3Add the frozen peppers and cook for two more minutes.

step4Now add the Del Monte® Pineapple, the juice and the ketchup and soy sauce. Bring to a boil, then simmer for two minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

step5In a mug or cup, mix the cornflour with a little water until smooth. Stir into the pork and Del Monte® Pineapple mixture. Simmer until the sauce has thickened, then season again and serve.



  • 300g pork loin, sliced
  • 3 tsp Chinese Five Spice
  • Groundnut oil
  • 500ml frozen peppers
  • ½ x 432g tin Del Monte® Pineapple Chunks in Juice, drained, juice reserved
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1tsp water
