Del Monte® Hass avocados have a distinctive pebbly skin that turns from green to purplish black when ripe, though color is not always the best indicator of ripeness. Contrary to their rough and blackish exterior, the pulp is pale green with a creamy texture and excellent taste.

Del Monte® Fuerte avocados have smooth, medium-thin skin that peels easily, with dense, pale green flesh. Known for their pear-shape, they are slightly oily with a rich, creamy flavor and notes of hazelnut, and are still considered by many to be one of the best tasting avocado. Contrary to Hass avocados, their skin remains green.
